Can I use another spell-checker than Polar spell-checker?

With Sisulizer installed are only Polar spell checker engines, but Sisulizer supports also following spell checker modules:

You can add new spell checker libraries via “Tools” menu -> “General” -> “Spelling & Grammar” tab. Here you should click on “Add” button and select desired dictionary file on your hard drive.

Hunspell dictionary files are distributed as ZIP files and you need extract dictionary files from archive before adding it to Sisulizer. OXT files are actually ZIP files, but Sisulizer can extract it. So, you either extract the files manually and add DIC file into Sisulizer, or you can just add OXT file and let Sisulizer to extract the dictionary files for you.  If you select packed OpenOffice file it opens following  Sisulizer’s dialog.

After adding new spell checker dictionary, Sisulizer opens dialog where you can set up settings for this spell checker.

Hints

  1. You can directly download and install OpenOffice 3 OXT packages via “How To Translate” dialog. This dialog is available via “Project” menu or via “Column” menu (only for currently edited language).

Count of language tabs in “How To Translate” dialog (via “Project” menu) depends on languages added to your Sisulizer project. Visible here spell checker items depends on selected language. For example Polish language is currently not supported by Lingosoft, so this item is unavailable in Polish language tab, while in Finish tab you can’t find Hunspell item, because this language is not supported by Hunspell.
  2. Sisulizer also allows you on using custom dictionary feature together with installed spell checker libraries.  More information about custom dictionary feature and settings you can find in this article on our blog.
  3. You can use all installed spell checker modules for selected language or use only your favorite spell checker  module, because you can remove selected spell checker modules via “Tools” menu -> “General” -> “Spelling & Grammar” tab.
